St. John's wort is a semi-short plant with flower stems branching at the top.
Petals and bracts are dotted black, and star-shaped yellow flowers open up with long stamens, resembling a misting spray.
St. John's wort has been used as a health product for centuries, though careful research and consideration should be taken if this plant is intended to be consumed.
Instructions
Start seeds outside after the risk of frost has passed.
Cover seeds lightly with dirt and sprouts will appear in a week, up to two. Plants should be kept moist until they are established, and can then be left alone.
After blooming, plants will develop capsules that, when mature, will release hundreds of small, black seeds.
